Near the end of November, 2024, I was feeling a little nostalgic about my own journey with learning Japanese and looking to start a side project to get more comfortable with LiveView. In a flash, the idea struck me - why not make a small application like the one where I first learned to read hiragana and katakana, RealKana?

Thus, KanaKata was born! It's been a fun little learning exercise, and I'm feeling more engergized lately to build, so I hope to continue improving it until it feels "complete" (if ever such a feeling comes).

Although the world of language learning, especially Japanese, feels pretty saturated with quality products already, I want to continue building and make something that others can enjoy learning Japanese with.

Or maybe I'll just build something completely different, or get sucked into playing JRPGs for half a year. Who knows?
